The three major airports that service the Savoie Area; Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon, are all, give or take, 3 hours drive from Val d’Isere and Tignes. Chambery is only 2.5 hours drive but does regularly suffer from poor weather and low clouds and flights are often diverted.

Eurostar trains run from St Pancras to Bourg St Maurice or the sleeper from Gare de Lyon after dinner in Paris can be fun unless you have a lot of luggage!
The regional bus company runs buses from all the main airports; Geneva, Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery. Their website is in French and English. They run through and from Bourg St. Mauice to both Tignes and Val d’Isere 7 days a week throughout the season.

If traveling at the weekend it can be possible to get on a tour operator transfer bus, it's best to organise this in advance rather than chancing your luck.

It is often cheaper to hire cars on the French side of Geneva Airport. You will however need to give yourself longer for drop off before catching your flight home.

Private taxi from Geneva for 4 approx €300
All routes must go through Albertville and then on the N90 to Moutiers and then Bourg St Maurice. From Bourg St Maurice take the D902 to Val d'Isère, Post Code; 73150. Be wary of following Sat Nav directions as they will direct you to closed summer roads, do not go via Chamonix and the Mont Blanc tunnel.
